What kind of self-reflection experiences did you have in your freshman English class? What have you learned (related to self-reflection or writing in general) that has stayed with you and supported your writing?
In my freshman English class, we would discuss our writing process and how we felt about our final product and throughout each step of writing. We also discussed the feedback we received, how we implemented it, and what we would change for a later assignment. I learned that self-reflection is a very important step after completing a writing piece because it helps us understand our writing more.

Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Freshman Portfolio. For those few students who do not have one only: analyze the rhetorical situation of your freshman English research paper/project.
My freshman English research paper was a comparative essay in which I compared the struggles in different aspects of society using two different texts that discussed the lives of different women who had very far from similar life experiences. At first, I was basing myself only on the texts, but I noticed that my paper was missing something which is where I decided to do research on how their societies could have formed an impacted on their issues since one was Chinese American and the other women was American. I noticed that a lot of the issues they experienced came generally because of the American culture that was surrounding them.

Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Product Review essay.
The rhetorical situation of my product review essay is providing an alternative for those who need a desk but also do makeup since a vanity would have the capacity to do both in one. In this product review essay, I highlight both the positive and negatives of the product making the essay more like an “informative” session of what makeup vanity.

What have we done so far that has been helpful to your writing process? How might you apply this helpful information or tool? What has been confusing/What would you like to spend more time on? If the clarification/additional focus does not occur during class time, how will you acquire the knowledge?
Something that we have done that has helped me with the writing process is the peer reviews such as the feedback I have received from the product review essay. This has been useful because besides getting information on what I did well and things that I need to improve or add I was able to see the work of my peers and use it as a reference on things that I was unsure about.

To be completed after you have received feedback on your essay: Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Lab Report Analysis essay. Include textual details to support your claims.
My product review essay was meant to inform people on makeup vanities, from my feedback I understand that the product was unclear. In the feedback it states that I “need the innovation to be an item possible”. Now I understand this because if someone would be interested in a makeup vanity, they need to know about which one I’m talking about instead of being general.

How are you doing with time management? Are you balancing the multiple needs of this course? Your other courses? Are you making time for reading, writing, studying, and collaborating? Explain your yes/no answers. Include how if yes or your success plan if no.
In terms of time management, I’m using a digital planner and every week I check all my syllabi and weekly class schedules to organize my assignments. For the reading I usually make time for them at night because I know that at that time, I will have less distractions and I can focus on annotations. For collaborative work I constantly check my group on the blackboard since everyone works at different times.

What experience have you had working in groups before this class? How has the group work we’ve done in this class been for you? What are you doing/will you do to optimize your experience completing the collaborative project for this class?
Before this class the experience I had working in groups was throughout high school. I used to work in groups in English, Economics, Math and other school clubs and programs like the national honor society and student council. During this class, I’ve been dedicating more time to complete the collaborative project and using social media to contact each other.

Analyze the rhetorical situation of your Technical Description. Include textual details to support your claims.
The rhetorical situation of my technical description is to persuade people to purchase or at least consider the amazon echo dot as a speaker. In the conclusion of my Technical Description, I stated that “The amazon echo dot 2nd generation is an excellent innovation that brings us a virtual assistant to make our lives easier”. This further supports multiple functionalities.

Select one learning objective or one component of a learning objective. When, where, and how have you learned it? How have you developed in this arena?
One learning objective that I’ve learned is “developing strategies for reading, drafting, collaborating, revising and editing”. Throughout this course I enhanced these skills on a collage level especially during weeks where we had major assignments due because this helped me give my best in writing. These skills I will definitely use in another semester with other classes.

What have you learned that has proved most useful to your composition process?
What I’ve learned that has improved my writing process is revision. Throughout previous classes I used to show a draft of my writing and use that feedback. But now I use feedback from the professor to revise my writing and resubmit it. With this I have been able to improve the quality of my writing and also learn how to articulate my words.
